After surgery

Since the natural eye lens has been removed, cataract cannot reappear. However, it is possible that, months or years after surgery, the lens capsule, which remains in the eye to hold the artificial lens, once again develops a (secondary) opacity. In this case we speak of a “Secondary Cataract”. It is unavoidable, but can be corrected with a small ambulatory laser treatment.
